PHSC 1100. The Universe of Energy. 3 Hours.
Prerequisite: MATH 1111 or 1101 or 1001. A survey of the physical sciences focuses upon the theme of energy. The concept of energy as a physical quantity is developed, an implications of the Law of Conservation of Energy are explored. Issues related to the utilization of energy in an industrial society are discussed, and examples of geological, meteorological, astrophysical, and chemical processes which involve energy are presented.
